Meet Our Sponsors-Weyerhaeuser

The Great Trent River Raft Race is back AGAIN on Saturday, June 22 at Union Point Park. The revival of the race in 2018, after a 20 year or so hiatus, was a huge success! We look forward to this being a signature event for New Bern for years to come. The race takes hundreds of hours of planning plus hundreds of volunteers to make it happen. One of the most important components of an event of this size is, of course, our sponsors. We would like to thank Weyerhaeuser for being one of the First Mate Sponsors this year. Here is a little about them in their own words.

ABOUT WEYERHAEUSER

Our company is also a real estate investment trust. In 2018, we generated $7.5 billion in net sales and employed approximately 9,300 people who serve customers worldwide. We are listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index. Our common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol WY. Learn more at:

Weyerhaeuser has been in business in Craven County for over 50 years, and we take our core value of Citizenship to heart at every level. We own nearly 90,000 acres of sustainably managed timberlands, produce quality dimensioned lumber that is used locally and beyond, and provide jobs to over 100 employees. Uniquely, ALL of Weyerhaeuser’s business divisions have a home right Weyerhaeuser Employeehere in Craven County – Timberlands, Wood Products, and Real Estate – so it’s no surprise that we are committed to giving back directly to the communities where our people live and work.
